The stock market in the first trading session of the new year prospered with the consensus of almost all industry groups. The more major indexes traded, the wider the gain range and closed at the highest level.
The market’s breakthrough was mainly contributed by large-cap VN30, VN30-Index this session increased by more than 42 points (+4.18%), even 4 stocks that hit the ceiling were PDR, HPG, VRE, SSI. Following, a series of stocks broke out with a margin of over 4% such as BID, TCB, GVR, KDH, VIC, MBB, VIB, NVL, STB, TPB, FPT,….
Similarly, the group of stocks with the largest market capitalization, which are banks, were also jubilant in the green. Many names increased strongly by more than 5%, creating momentum for the market to break out such as BID, VBB, TCB, MBB, etc. Along with the general market, the securities group was also “purple”. Not to mention a series of stocks such as: MBS, SHS, APS, HCM, FTS, VCI, SSI, VND, etc. agreed to increase by all margin.
Real estate stocks also recorded a strong recovery, it was difficult to find any stocks that went against the market, even CEO, DTD, TIG, LDG, PDR, DIG, CII, HDC, GEX, VRE, DXG, …increase to the ceiling. Other names such as VC7, S99, VIC, DLG, NBB, DPG, NVL, NRC, DPG, etc. all increased from 4% to 6% in value.
Notably, with the massive disbursement of public investment at the end and beginning of 2023, a series of beneficial stocks increased “initially” in the first session of the new year. Not to mention such as HUT, PLC, CTD, CII, LCG, VCG, HPG, HSG, DHA, FCN, HHV,… all increased in amplitude.

Liquidity on HoSE improved slightly, matched value reached VND 8,364 billion, up 13% compared to the last session of 2022.

In the same direction as the strong breakthrough of the general market, foreign investors’ transactions became the bright spot at the beginning of the year when they were net buyers with a total value of 256 billion dong in the whole market. Foreign investors’ buying force focused on disbursing HPG and VNM while net selling DPM and VHC.
