VN-Index recorded the strongest intraday volatility in history

“If it is still in the price range of 1,400-1,500 points, more than 900 million shares traded on HoSE on November 16 will definitely create a billion-dollar trading session,” said Bui Van Huy.

A spectacular reversal from the low price zone, the Vietnamese stock market has just had the strongest rally in Asia. The recovery took place on a large scale with hundreds of gainers, including nearly 300 stocks hitting the ceiling on all three exchanges. As a result, the VN-Index closed at 942.9 points, up 31 points or 3.4%.

Notably, at one point in the session of November 16, the VN-Index retreated close to the threshold of 873, the fluctuation range from the lowest level compared to the close to more than 69 points, equivalent to an increase of 7.9%. According to statistics, this is the highest volatility figure ever recorded in history, surpassing the 7.3% fluctuation of May 26, 2011.

On the other hand, the 11/16 session also continued to be special when this was the 4th session in the past 10 years. VN-Index closed the previous session down more than 3% and then recovered and gained over 3% in the next session. there. In fact, such fluctuations have only been recorded 3 times in the past, respectively: May 26, 2011, July 28, 2020 and January 29, 2021.

Commenting on the market, Mr. Bui Van Huy, Securities Director of DSC Ho Chi Minh City Branch , assessed that Vietnam’s stock market had just had a rare reversal session, only a few times in the last 10 years. At the same time, market liquidity is also very good. Mr. Huy said that just looking at the value will not be able to see all because the share price has been halved, tripled, and the general market has also decreased by nearly 40%. However, considering the number of shares traded, the recovery of cash flow will be more obvious.  ”  If it is still in the price range of 1,400-1,500, more than 900 million shares traded on HoSE will definitely create Therefore, the transaction of billions of dollars , “said Mr. Huy.

Assessing the prospect, the expert said that the “nightmare” called cross margin call was almost done, as evidenced by many stocks that had exited the floor and increased their range in the real estate group. The sale of mortgages at the corporate level is generally stable. Thanks to that, overly pessimistic scenarios about the market will be gradually removed.

In order for the market to really come back and the sentiment to be lifted, Mr. Huy said that timely solutions to support businesses and the market will create a driving force for a strong recovery. Synchronous measures from credit “room”, transparency in the bond and stock markets will help the uptrend become sustainable, the recovery span can last from now until the end of 2022 and may even last until the beginning of 2023.
